Solve the system of equations given below
(i) $x + y = 2$ and $3 x - y = 0$

Solution

Given the system of equations are,

$x + y = 2$ ......(1) and

$3 x - y = 0$ ......(2).

Now adding (1) and (2) we get, $4 x = 2$ this gives $x = \frac{1}{2}$ .

Now using this value of $x$ in (2) we get, $y = \frac{3}{2}$ .
