(i) H3PO3 undergoes disproportionation reaction but H3PO4 does not.
(ii) When C12 reacts with excess of F2, ClF3 is formed and not FC13.
(iii) Dioxygen is a gas while Sulphur is a solid at room temperature.

Solution
Dear student,
i) In H3PO3 , P is in +3 oxidation state whereas in H3PO4 has P in +5 oxidation state. So it can go from + 3 to +5 as well as +1 and hence undergoes disproportion reaction.
ii) Cl in +3 oxidation state will be more stable than + 3 of F atom.So it forms ClF3 and not FCl3This is due to electronegavity of fluorine.
iii) Due to pπ-pπ bonding because of which the intermolecular forces in it are weak van der Waals forces . sulphur does not form strong S=S double bonds hence exists as S8 held together by strong covalent bonds and exists as a polyatomic molecule, in which intermolecular forces are strong so, it exists as a solid.
