Question

Solve this:
Q.6. A conductor carries a current of 0.1 A. Calculate the amount of charge that passes through the cross-section of the conductor in 1 minute. If electronic charge is 1.6×10-19 C, how many electrons will flow in this time interval?

Solution

Dear student,
We know that Q=It where,
Q= charge flowing in a conductor
I= current in the conductor
t=time
So, the amount of charge that passes through the cross section of conductor , Q=It
Q=0.160=0.00167C
If electronic charge is 1.6x10-19C than no. of electrons flowing will be n=Q/e
n=0.001671.6×10-19=1.04×1016
