Solving a Quadratic Equation by Completion of Squares Method

Solve this equation .
$2 x - 3 y = 9; 2 x + y = 13$

$2 x - 3 y = 9$ ...(1)
$2 x + y = 13$ ...(2)
Subtracting equation (1) for (2), we get,
$4 y = 4$
$y = 1$
Therefore, $x = 6$ .
