Solve using the method of substitution
2x - 3y = 7 ; 5x + y = 9

2x3y=7 ----------------(1)
5x+y=9
y=95x-------------(2)
Now, substitute equation (2) in equation (1)
Then ,2x3(95x)=7
2x27+15x=7
17x=27+7
17x=34
x=34/17=2
y=95×2=910=1
Therefore x is 2 and y is 1
