Given equation is $x^{2} + 8 x + 16 = 0$

$\Rightarrow x^{2} + 4 x + 4 x + 16 = 0$

$\Rightarrow x (x + 4) 4 (x + 4) = 0$

$\Rightarrow (x + 4) (x + 4) = 0$

$\Rightarrow$ $x + 4 = 0$

$\Rightarrow$ $x = - 4.$
