$7x+8y=52$ ....... (2)
Multiplying equation (1) by 7 gives
$28x+21y=175$ .......... (3)
Multiplying equation (2) by 4 gives
$28x+32y=208$ ............ (4)
$-11y=-33$
$y=3$
Using this in (1), we get
$4x+3\times 3=25$
$4x=25-9=16$
$x=4$
