Given: $(x - 5) / 2 - (x - 3) / 5 = \frac{1}{2}$
Now by taking L.C.M for $5$ and $2$ is $10$
$\frac{5 x - 25 - 2 x + 6}{10} = \frac{1}{2} \frac{3 x - 19}{10} = \frac{1}{2} 3 x - 19 = \frac{10}{2} 3 x = 5 + 19 3 x = 24 x = \frac{24}{3} x = 8$
