X decorated Ys house for a lumpsum of Rs. 20,000. The work is done but Y complains of faulty workmanship. Y spent Rs. 5,000 to remedy the defect. Can X recover anything from Y.?

Solution: X can recover only Rs. 15,000 (i.e. Rs. 20,000 less Rs. 5,000) from Y because the contract is indivisible but has been completely performed.
