$y = 2 x + 1; y + 3 x - 6 = 0$

$y - 2 x = 1$ ...... $(1)$
$y + 3 x = 6$ ...... $(2)$
Eqn $(2) -$ Eqn $(1)$
$y + 3 x - y + 2 x = 6 - 1$
$\Rightarrow 5 x = 5$
$\Rightarrow x = \frac{5}{5} = 1$
Put $x = 1$ in $(1)$ we get
$y - 2 \times 1 = 1$
$\Rightarrow y - 2 = 1$
$\Rightarrow y = 1 + 2 = 3$
$∴ x = 1, y = 3$
