$y = 2 x + 3$ and $y = 3 x + 1$

Solution

$y = 2 x + 3$ ..... $(1)$
$y = 3 x + 1$ ..... $(2)$
From $(1)$ and $(2)$ we have
$2 x + 3 = 3 x + 1$
$\Rightarrow 3 x - 2 x = 3 - 1$
$\Rightarrow x = 2$
Put $x = 2$ in $(1)$ we get
$y = 3 \times 2 + 1 = 6 + 1 = 7$
$∴ x = 2$ , $y = 7$
