Solution

Given : The number of children = x

And

The total trees planted = y

Also given : Some children planted 5 trees in the colony park and 2 plants each in their houses.

So,

y = 5 + 2 x

y - 2 x = 5 ( Ans )

trees planted by 7 children?

x=7

y-2*7=5
y=5+14
y= 19
