Some crops are suitable for growing in soil with acidic nature. Which salt can be added, in order to increase the acidic nature of the soil?
Ammonium sulphate
Lowering the pH of the alkaline soil is done by using sulfur-based salts or directly adding sulphuric acid. Ammonium sulphate lowers the pH when added to the soil and the ammonium is nitrified by soil bacteria into nitrate and hydrogen ions.
