Solution
Addison's disease:
Addison's disease is characterized by loss of weight, loss of pigmentation of the skin, low blood sugar levels, increased sensitivity to cold, etc.
It is associated with the hyposecretion of hormones from the adrenal cortex.
The adrenal cortex is responsible for the secretion of three groups of steroid hormones, namely, glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids, and sex steroids.
A reduction in the secretion of these hormones may cause Addison's disease.
