Solution
Some of the fishes have lung-like swim bladders to control their buoyancy (ability to float in a medium). They move up in the water column by releasing gas into the bladder and inflating it, and down by reabsorbing gas into their blood. This way, they are able to hang motionless a few feet above the seafloor and they can also play dead by floating upside down to protect themselves from predators.
