Some plants with deep red, violet or brown leaves also carry out the process of photosynthesis

Justify the statement

Solution

Plants require chlorophyll for photosynthesis. Chlorophyll is the green pigment in chloroplasts. So, you might be thinking that plants with red leaves cannot photosynthesize. But they just get covered up by various other coloured pigments. If a plant stands on it's own it does use photosynthesis.
