Solution

Indigestion of food causes pain and irritation in the stomach and this may be due to the acidity in the stomach. That is due to excess acid secretion. This pain can be relived by taking antacid which has bases, which neutralises the excess acid in the stomach. Thereby the pain can be reduced.
