Solution
The correct option is A corpus hemorrhagicum The mature Graafian follicle which ruptures at the time of ovulation, is sometimes filled with blood. It gives rise to a temporary structure called corpus hemorrhagicum. It doesn’t have a long life. The blood is present in the form of a clot, which gets gradually absorbed and then the entire structure transforms into corpus luteum which secretes progesterone.
In the absence of pregnancy, the corpus luteum degenerates into corpus albicans within two weeks of its formation. Corpus albicans has no secretory function.
Corpus callosum is found in the brain and functions to join the right and left cerebral hemispheres together.
