Solution

Heartburn:

  1. Heartburn is caused due to the acid, i.e. HCl.
  2. At times the acid from the stomach rises upwards into the food pipe or oesophagus and that causes that burning sensation.
  3. This happens when the food drops from the oesophagus into the stomach and the lower end muscles of the oesophagus relaxes and some acid rises up when the food displaces it.
