Seeds stored for some time are very hard in nature. So firstly they are soaked in water for a day. They are then transferred into wet cotton and kept under it for few days or hours. After few day or hours the seeds start sprouting. These seeds are then transferred into the soil. After getting enough nutrients, water, etc. the plant slowly starts growing from the seed. This is known as germination.
