The five layers of the atmosphere are the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere. Troposphere is the lowest layer present near the Earth's surface. Stratosphere starts just above the troposphere. This layer extends to 50 kms high, above the Earth's surface. Mesosphere starts just above the stratosphere. This layer extends to 80 kms high. The thermosphere is just above the mesosphere and just below the exosphere.
