The followings are the changes that a particular cell undergo during its development:
1) The rapidly dividing cells of the meristems which result in an increase in the number of cells in the plant, representing the meristematic phase of growth.
2) The cells then differentiate to form a particular type of cell with a specific function.
3) The cells of the maturation phase attain their maximum size, undergo maximum thickening of the cell wall.
4)Then the cell attains the final state i.e. become a mature cell.
