Solution

Cell division process or the cell cycle involves two major events - the interphase and the mitotic phase. Interphase is the stage during which the cell copies its DNA in preparation for mitosis. The mitotic phase is the division phase and is again divided into two stages - karyokinesis or the division of the nucleus and cytokinesis or the division of the cytoplasm. Karyokinesis consists of four stages - prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase.
