Solution
Sexual reproduction in fungi starts with plasmogamy or fusion of the protoplasms of two motile or two non-motile gametes.
This is followed by karyogamy or the fusion of their nuclei. This fusion results in a single cell called zygote. Zygote nucleus undergoes meiosis producing haploid spores. These spores germinate to give rise to a new hypha.
