Middle ear has three ear ossicles, malleus, incus and stapes. Sound waves enter the external ear and are directed to ear drum and cause vibrations in the ear drum. The ear drum transmits vibrations to the ear ossicle malleus which transfers vibration further to incus and finally to stapes. Stapes strike against the oval window in back and forth direction and transmits the vibrations to cochlear fluid of inner ear through oval window.
