Given, time taken by the sound after lightening = 10 seconds
Speed of the sound $= 340 m s^{- 1}$ .
Let $s$ be the distance travelled.
We know, $s p e e d = \frac{d i s t a n c e}{t i m e}$
$∴$ $d i s t a n c e = s p e e d \times t i m e$
$\Rightarrow D i s t a n c e, s = 340 \times 10 = 3400 m$ or $3.4 k m$
