Question no. 19 plese solve

Q19. A ray of light passes through a plane boundary separating two media, 'I' and '2' of refractive indices n1 = 32 and n2 =43.

(i) If the ray passes from medium I to medium 2 at an angle of incidence 30°. What is the angle of refraction at same angle of incidence.

(ii) If the ray passes from medium 2 and medium 1, what is the angle of refraction?
[Ans . (i) sin–1916 (ii) sin–149]

Solution

Dear Student

Using Snell's law sin isin r= n2n1 (light going from medium 1 to medium 2)(i)sin 300sin r = 4332 sin r = 0.5 ×98 = 916 r = sin-1916(ii) sin 300sin r = 3243 (ight going from medium 2 to medium 1) sin r = 0.5 ×89 = 49 r = sin-1 49
