Solution

Three factors responsible for the French Revolution were

1. Bankruptcy of the French state, which forced the French King to call the Estates General to get approval to raise new taxes. This provided the Third Estate representatives to declare themselves the National Assembly and launch the French Revolution.

2. Heavy taxation of the Third Estate: The members of the Third Estate, which comprised the majority of the French population, reeled under heavy taxation in a feudal system. The feudal system exempted the clergy and the aristocacy from the burden of taxation and imposed the entire burden of taxation on the Third Estate. The burden became intolerable for the members of the Third Estate prompting them the launch the French Revolution.

3. The philosphers of Franch like Voltaire, Rousseau and Motesquieu contributed the French Revolution by spreading the ideas of liberty and equality among the people of France. The feudal system was incompatible with liberty and equality.
