Solution

Dear student ,

1. Anything which has mass and occupies space is known as matter. Matter is found in mainly 3 states: Solid, Liquid and Gas.

Eg: Brick, Water, Air etc.

6. We should wear cotton clothes in summer because cotton fibre is a good absorber of water. It absorbs our sweat and expose it for evaporation due to which we feel cool. Moreover, cotton fibre has pores in it through which air can pass through.

8. Naphthalene undergoes sublimation easily i.e., the change of state of naphthalene from solid to gas takes place easily. Thus, naphthalene balls disappear with time without leaving any solid.

9.
Temperature - With an increase in the temperature, kinetic energy of the particles also increases and more and more particles are able to break through the force of attraction from other particles. Hence, they get converted into vapours. Thus, evaporation increases with temperature.
