Solution

Dear Student

Solution to your query (e) is provided below:

Q (e).
Fossils
are the remains of the organisms that once existed on earth.

Significance;-

Fossils provide evidence of evolution by revealing the characteristics of the past organisms, and the changes that have occurred in these organisms to give rise to a present organism. They can be found anywhere and can be of any size. The shape or size of fossil tells about the evolution or organization of that organism. When any creature dies it fossilized into rocks. Those fossils which found closer to the surface of the Earth shows that they are more recent than those present in the deeper layers. They also provide information to scientists about the climatic condition & habitats of past organisms.
