Solution

The correct option is D All of the above

Species diversity influences the productivity of the ecosystem by:

Ensuring the efficient use of resources: Different species use an eco-system's resources in different ways. Having many species usually means that resources are used efficiently with little waste. The efficient use of these resources helps them cycle through the ecosystem faster than making them available for reuse.

Complementary interactions between species: Some species are thought to interact and use resources in ways that increase productivity for each other for example, reef building coral gives zooxanthellae algae shelter and gets food in return. If one of them is lost say if the number algal population reduces the role of primary producers decreases and if coral reef number reduces which provide shelter for many marine organisms, in turn, creates an imbalance in the flow of energy and matter in the ecosystem thus productivity of coral reef ecosystem will become much less productive.
The presence of architecture species: Some species have an enormous impact on the makeup of an ecosystem by providing habitat. For example, coral reefs are 100 times more diverse than nearby tropical ocean ecosystem. The reef supplies habitat and resources for hundreds of different species.
