Solution

The correct option is C [7.5×1014 Hz6×1016 Hz]

We know, if f = frequency, λ = wave length and v = speed of light in vacuum.
then, v=fλ or f=vλ

So, for maximum frequency, fmax=vλmin

Substituting the given data,

fmax=3×10850×1010=6×1016 Hz

and minimum frequency, fmin=vλmax

Substituting the given data,

fmin=3×1084000×1010=7.5×1014 Hz

So, Range of frequencies of ultraviolet light will be [7.5×1014 Hz6×1016 Hz]

Why this Question?This question teaches the student how to use the relation between frequency and wavelength.It also introduces the concept of ultraviolet light as a subset of the electromagnetic spectrum
