In eukaryotes such as fungi, plants and animals DNA contains coding sequences called exons which are interspersed by non-coding sequences called introns. After transcription the primary transcript, hnRNA contain both exons and introns. By a process known as splicing, the introns are removed and the exons are joined together to form mRNA. Splicesomes are the complex molecular machinary which play an important role in splicing. These are found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells.
Bacteria are prokaryotic and lack introns. Hence, splicesomes are not found in bacterial cells.
