The Neanderthal man (Homo neanderthalensis) lived in near east and central Asia between 1,00,000-40,000 years ago. Their brain capacity was 1400cc. Evidence suggests that Neanderthal men were the first to bury their dead. Burying the dead might be related to the increased cranial capacity.

In certain communities of the modern man, it is noticed that the burial of the dead body is done with a lot of rituals.

But there is no evidence suggesting that Homo habilis and Homo erectus buried their dead.
