Case I : $I n i t i a l v e l o c i t y, u = 0, f i n a l v e l o c i t y, v = 6 m / s, t i m e, t = 30 s$
Using the equation $v = u + a t$ ,
$6 = 0 + 30 t$
$a = 0.2 m / s^{2}$

Case II : $u = 6 m / s, v = 4 m / s, t = 5 s t h e n$
$4 = 6 + 5 a$
$a = - 0.4 m / s^{2}$
which is a retardation.
