Case I :

Final velocity, v=6ms−1,

Using the equation
v=u+at,
6=0+30t
⇒a=0.2 ms−2
Case II :
Initial velocity,u=6 ms−1,
Final velocity, v=4 ms−1,
Time, t=5 s
Using the equation
v=u+at,
4=6+5a
⇒a=–0.4 ms−2
