Solution

A safety precaution that you should take during the preparation of hydrochloric acid is:

  • You should always wear chemical splash goggles.
  • You should wear chemical-resistant gloves, and a chemical-resistant apron in the laboratory during the preparation of hydrochloric acid.
  • You should always add the acid solution to water and not the water to acid solution because the water in contact with a large amount of acid can cause a rise in the temperature and the beaker can break or be less violent which projects some acid droplets that can be harmful.
  • You should not open any bottle of acid near your eyes.
