Question

State and explain Ohm's law. How do you define 1 ohm?

Open in App
Solution

When temperature remains constant, the current through a conductor is directly proportional to the potential difference between its ends. In other words, the ratio of potential difference to the current is a constant, known as resistance. Mathematically, Ohm's law is given by
V = IR
When the potential difference between the ends of the conductor is 1 V and if a current of 1 A flows through it, then the resistance of the conductor is 1 ohm.
