State and explain the law of conservation of energy with an example.

  1. According to the law of conservation of energy whenever energy changes from one form to another, the total amount of energy remains constant.
  2. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed.
  3. Example: In a torch chemical energy of the batteries is converted into electrical energy, which is converted into light and heat energy. Hence no energy is destroyed only transformation of energy occurs.
