Solution

Definition of Nuclear power plant

A nuclear power plant is a thermal power plant in which the nuclear reactor acts as the source of heat which is used to convert the atomic energy into various usable energy.

Safety measures to be taken

  1. The nuclear reactor can produce a large amount of heat energy which can cause various problems. So a cooling system should be there for the reactor core as a backup in case failure of safety occurs.
  2. The nuclear reactor must be kept in an air-tight building with a strong concrete structure in order to prevent the radiation to escape to the outside environment which may cause many health hazards and explosions.
