Solution

Conservation of charge

  1. The law of conservation of charge states that an electric charge can neither be created nor be destroyed.
  2. In an isolated system, the net charge will always remain constant.

Examples of conservation of charge:

  1. Let 2 objects in an isolated system have a net charge 0. now object 1 transfers 5 electrons to object 2.
  2. The charge on object 1 will have 5 positive charge after losing electrons. O1O1+5+5e-
  3. The charge on object 2 will have 5 negative charge after gaining electrons. O2+5e-O2-5
  4. But the combined charge on both objects will be 0. as a net positive charge is canceled out by a net negative charge.
