Followings are the various evidence to explain organic evolution.
1. Homologous organs: These are the organs which developed or originated from a common structure but different functions in different groups are called homologous organs. For example forelimbs of man, bat, whale and bird.
2. Analogous organs: These are the organs which perform the same function in different groups of animals do not shows a common underlying plan of the structure is called analogous organs. For example wings of bats and wings of insects.
3. Vestigial organs: These are the organs of the organism which appear to be small and functionless at present, but can be shown to be homologous with ancestral organs and structures that were larger and functional at one time are called vestigial organs. For example muscles of external ears and reduced tailbone.
