Different forms of communal politics are as follows:
a) The most common form of communalism is in everyday beliefs such as the belief in the supremacy of one’s religion over other religions. An example of this form of communalism is the Militant religious groups.
b) A communal mind usually begins a quest for the political dominance of the religious community. For those belonging to a community, it can take them for of a desire to form a separate political unit. Separatist leaders and political parties in Jammu and Kashmir are an example of this form of communal politics.
c) The common method of communalism is political mobilization on the religious guidelines. It tries to bring the people of one’s religion together. Several politicians practice this method to control the voters from the religious communities in the country.
d) The ugliest form of communalism is when it leads to communal violence, riots and massacre. The India and Pakistan communal riots are an example of this form of communalism.
