Solution

Energy conversion that takes place during the working of the Microphone

  1. Sound energy is converted into electrical energy during the working of the microphone.
  2. When we speak in the microphone our sound gets converted into an electrical signal.
  3. The magnet present inside the microphone generates a magnetic field.
  4. The diaphragm present inside the microphone moves back and forth when a sound wave hits it.
  5. The coil, which is attached to the diaphragm, moves back and forth as well.
  6. As the coil moves back and forth there is a disturbance in the magnetic field which generates the electrical signal.
  7. The electric current passes out from the microphone to an amplifier or sound recording device.

Hence, the microphone converts electrical energy to sound energy.
