Solution
Transpiration:
Transpiration is the evaporation of water from plants through the leaves while their stomata are open for the passage of CO2 and O2 during photosynthesis.
Stomata are the small pores on the leaves.
It also occurs through the lenticels and cuticle.
Factors affecting transpiration:
Sunlight: Rate of transpiration is more during day and less during the night time.
Temperature: Transpiration increases with rise in temperature. It is more in summer than winter.
Humidity: Transpiration is less when there is high humidity in air.
Winds: Transpiration is more when the wind blows faster as the water vapours get removed faster from the leaves.
