Question

State law of conservation of linear momentum and derive the law of conservation of linear momentum using newton's second law of motion.

Open in App
Solution

Dear student

According to the conservation of linear momentum if the external force on a system is zero then the linear momentum of the system will be conserve.
By Newton's second law of motion
Fext=dpdtwhen Fext=0 dpdt=0p=constant
so linear momentum will be conserve.
