  • Law of constant proportion states that a pure chemical compound is always made up of the same elements combined together in a fixed (or definite) proportions by mass.
  • This law is also known as the law of definite proportions.
  • For example in ammonia (NH3), nitrogen and hydrogen, are always present regardless of the method or the source from which it is obtained in the ratio of 14:3 by mass.
