Law of octaves, given by J.A.R. Newlands, states that "if the chemical elements are arranged according to increasing atomic weight, those with similar physical and chemical properties occur after each interval of seven elements."
According to the law of octaves:-
a) Phosphorous has similar properties to Nitrogen.
b) Sodium has similar properties to Lithium.
