Question

State Ohm's law and hence define resistance of a conductor.

Open in App
Solution

Dear student, According to Ohm's Law, the current flowing through a conductor is directly proportional to the potential differnce applied across its ends provided that the physical conditions like temperature remain the same. The property of a conductor due to which it opposes the flow of current through it is called as resistance. It depends upon length , thickness , nature of material and temperature of a conductor. The SI unit of resistance is ohm. Regards
