  • Physical changes: Changes which involve only physical properties like colour, physical states, etc., and there will be no new substance formed
  • Chemical changes: Changes which involve only chemical properties and result in formation of new substances.It also involves heat change, energy changes etc.,
  • By analysing both physical and chemical changes we can state an instance where water undergoes physical change can be: Boiling of water which involves only change in physical state (liquid to gas)
  • Water undergoes chemical change can be: Electrolysis of water i.e passing electric current through water causes splitting of water into hydrogen and oxygen
